What is Blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery, is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin, muscle, and fat from the upper and/or lower eyelids. As we age, these tissues can weaken, leading to sagging eyelids, bags under the eyes, and sometimes even impaired vision.

The Blepharoplasty Procedure
Blepharoplasty is typically performed on an outpatient basis using local anesthesia with sedation. Dr. Kwitko will make incisions in the natural creases of your eyelids to minimize scarring. Excess skin, muscle, and fat are removed, and the incisions are closed with sutures.
Recovery
After blepharoplasty, you can expect some bruising and swelling. Most patients can return to normal activities within a few days, but complete healing may take several weeks. Dr. Kwitko will provide you with detailed post-operative instructions.
